Our
History.

in2food's foray in the Prepared Food Industry has roots going as far back as the 1980's, involving the hard work of families, the investment of international partners and the satisfaction of world-class customers.

Two successful companies, lnterfruit and Lombardi Foods, stepped out from common paths to merge. These companies, both home-grown in South Africa, with a mutual pursuit of excellence in prepared food products and having common values and a shared vision, in 2010 formed the company known today as in2food.

Through a strong partnership with both customers and shareholders, our organisation has shown a consistently strong performance over the past decade. Growth has been both organic as well as acquisitive, allowing the business to expand and diversify across food categories and portfolios.

Today, in2food supplies the South African and international markets, across a wide product portfolio of ambient, fresh and frozen produce, prepared foods, fish and seafood, groceries, snacks and bakery. Our aim is to deliver innovative solutions that inspire.

Sustainability.

Lotana is our sustainability program that we are very passionate about from the foundations of our business. For us to be more sustainable we are committed to five core components: our environment, colleagues, customers, communities and country. We are inspired by the beautiful but endangered Lotana butterfly that originates from Limpopo, South Africa. We find inspiration from its circle of life and recognise the importance of not just looking after the planet we live on, but also the communities that we live in.

We recognise our responsibility is to minimise our direct and indirect impact on the environment and operate in a responsible and sustainable way for the benefit of our customers, colleagues and other stakeholders.

Ethical and Social.

We focus on three core components:

Colleagues

We recognise that one of our core responsibilities as a business is to look after the well-being of our colleagues. We aim to give back by means of colleague wellness centres, our in2food trust focussing on scholarships and bursaries for colleagues' children, as well as skills development and partnership with the Adult Education and Training centres.

We work closely with customers to develop products for their brands and markets through continuous product innovation and improvement.

Community

We recognise the communities around our sites as a responsibility to care for.

We give back to the communities in the form of skills development programs, early childhood development, prevention of woman and child abuse as well as mentoring and coaching of community leaders.

Country

We are passionate about our home country, South Africa. We give back to build our country in the form of national and regional NGO's as well as other fundraising initiatives.

We truly care about making a positive impact on the environment and communities through our Lotana sustainability initiative.

Sourcing.

One of the largest areas of impact a business can make is where it sources its raw materials from.

We are driving this vision forward by sourcing from suppliers registered with SEDEX, one of the world’s leading ethical trade service providers, working to improve working conditions in global supply chains.
